A new opportunity has arisen to join one of the largest Pensions teams in the UK. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and covers intellectually challenging law. The need to keep up to speed with knowhow is paramount due to the government regularly changing the pensions landscape and the courts handing down a number of cases that have potentially wide reaching consequences. Day to day work will be keeping abreast of knowhow developments, drafting legal documents and negotiating on complex transactions with the chance of being involved in contentious work, ranging from individual complaints and disputes to Pensions Ombudsman and court proceedings.
You will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with client contacts and across the pensions industry generally. Business development is an important aspect, so you'll contribute to the growth of the team by attending client events, writing articles for our website or other publications and marketing activities.
You will be a NQ Solicitor looking to get established in a practice area where you can add real value. Experience of pensions law will mark you out for attention, but more important is a true interest in this specialism and a desire to build a career in this area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented and enthusiastic team who will be as invested in your career development as you are. You'll be supported by a collegiate approach, a firm wide commitment to development, and mentoring and supervision by leaders in the field.
In return, you'll bring a broad and varied skillset that ideally includes previous experience of pensions law, though this is by no means essential, strong project management skills, exceptional drafting and communication skills and a commercial outlook. You'll also need to be robust and resilient and used to dealing with complex work.
