We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly regarded Property Litigation team in Bristol, rated by Chambers & Partners as a national leader outside London. You would support a number of different members of the team on a range of tasks.

The practice

The team advises on all aspects of commercial landlord and tenant litigation that arises from large-scale portfolio management, and also on property disputes such as option disputes, enforcement of development agreements, easements, general conveyancing/title problems and planning litigation.

We represent corporate clients in development disputes, litigation relating to energy and infrastructure, and landlord and tenant cases on a national basis and also act for a number of major housing and utilities clients, such as Barratt Homes, Western Power Distribution and Persimmon.

Led by Leona Briggs who is rated in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, the team currently comprises of 1 Partner, 1 Legal Director, 1 Associate Director, 2 Senior Associates, 2 Associates, 1 Trainee Solicitor and 1 Paralegal.

Technical skills and experience

You will have prior experience as a paralegal, preferably within a Property Litigation team. Knowledge and experience of the following would be an advantage:

  • Lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954;
  • Landlord and tenant disputes such as rent arrears claims;
  • Knowledge of county court procedures.

There will be an expectation for you to work independently and to tight deadlines managing your own caseload. As part of this role you will also occasionally be required to assist with other work for the wider litigation team as required. You will:

  • Be committed to working in the Bristol area
