** REAL ESTATE SOLICITOR** 3 + PQE, LEADING INDEPENDENT PROPERTY FIRM, LONDON, £60,000 +

The firm:

The firm is a leading, independent, City law firm which is well known for its Real Estate practice with particular strengths in housing and development. The core focus of the firm is providing domestic legal advice to clients in England and Wales, including:

  • Public and private companies;
  • Property developers;
  • Local authorities; and
  • Funding and regulatory bodies in the charities and housing association sectors.

The role:

The firm is looking to recruit a 3 + PQE Real Estate solicitor to join it’s highly successful team in London.

The Real Estate department is at the very heart of the firm’s business.

The department works for a range of clients, including:

  • registered providers of social housing;
  • care homes; and
  • private developers.

The successful candidate will work, almost exclusively, on site acquisition and development projects for the firms clients.

Specifically, the lawyer will work on:

  • a full range of property related legal issues from giving advice on draft section 106's;
  • development agreements; and
  • conditional contracts and potential title problems through to legal completion.

Other responsibilities:

  • structuring transactions with reference to SDLT and VAT
  • dealing with access rights;
  • drafting full reports on title;
  • section 106 agreements and planning;
  • highways and drainage (with paralegal support);
  • conditional contracts and option agreements;
  • development agreements;
  • nomination agreements (training provided if necessary);
  • S38, S104 and S278 adoption and highways agreements (with paralegal support);
  • statutory utility easements, leases and transfers (with paralegal support); and
  • drafting and negotiating leases and licenses.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3 PQE + property experience (ideally with development experience);
  • Working for a leading Property Solicitor law firm;
  • Strong academic background (ideally a 2.1 degree); and
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to work with clients and colleagues.
