Manager - Resolution Policy (FS reg/insolvency)
My client, a widely respected financial services institution, is seeking a Resolution Policy manager for a role within a specialist team that is at the forefront of global policy making on resolution. The team developed policies to implement the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive in the UK. Due to the work load they are seeking to expand the team which is why the role has come to market.
My client has advised that although a qualified lawyer is not essential they would be keen to look at lawyers who have policy experience and would be interested in this type of work. There are a number of lawyers in the team at the moment who are doing non legal roles and the skill sets have worked well.
The key responsibilities of the role are working to strengthen the domestic resolution regime and the international framework for resolution developed by Financial Stability Board. You will input into international discussions on resolution of financial institutions and develop viable resolution strategies for UK firms as part of the work done to develop and review recovery and resolution plans. You will work with overseas institutions and get involved with crisis management work including contingency planning to prepare for potential bank resolutions.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the challenges involved in corporate restructuring preferably in the banking sector. You will have a basic understanding of the bank resolution scheme and strong stakeholder management experience. If you are coming from a legal background you will have experience in financial services regulatory work or come from an insolvency background and you will have an interest in policy making. This role will come with a very varied work load and an excellent name on the CV.
