Junior In-House Counsel, Insurance
A speciality insurer is offering an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to get hands-on experience, excellent exposure and career development opportunities within a friendly but fast paced environment. Working alongside a small team of experienced senior lawyers, the responsibilities of this position will be split between those of a general in-house counsel and an insurance lawyer, with some company secretarial duties to add. The non-contentious workload will include commercial contracts, confidentiality agreements and drafting and negotiating insurance documents. You will be advising and working closely with the brokers, claims, underwriting and reinsurance teams as well as external counsel.
This new position will require someone to be flexible and adaptable and have a positive can-do attitude. You will need some insurance exposure either from practice or in-house, from a training seat or post qualification. Lloyds experience would be beneficial. You should be commercially aware and a team player as well as able to work alone, use your initiative and make decisions. This is a superb opportunity for an astute lawyer to get broad in-house experience at an earlier stage in your career than normally available. This is offered together with a work life balance, autonomy, responsibility and an opportunity to shape the role.
