This highly profitable, well-hedged, international firm has undoubtedly been one of the star performers of the past half dozen years. Each year during that time without exception, the firm has increased its revenue, number of lawyers, equity partners and its PEP, whilst simultaneously expanding its overseas network. It has managed to do this within the context of a PEP-to-equity spread ratio, which connotes a highly collegiate law firm that shares the rewards of outstanding performance across the entire partnership – rather than just a few kleptocrats at the top.
The firm has a lacuna arising, in part from the retirement of one of its star real estate finance partners but also, from the need to service the rapid expansion of its cross-border commercial real estate offering.
The existing real estate finance team sits in finance and, in conjunction with its first-rate alternative funds, tax and commercial property teams, acts for an approximately equal mix of lenders and borrowers. Clients include major banks, alternative lenders, numerous private equity, hedge funds, debt funds and developers.
