Fast growing boutique law firm that operates across several jurisdictions in the Middle East seeks to attract solicitor or barrister to join its thriving disputes practice in Dubai. The firm handles work across numerous jurisdictions in the Middle East including the UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Bahrain, Kuwait as well as the mainland Indian market. Most of the lawyers in the firm are English or other common law qualified solicitors and the partners all come from big Anglo Saxon firm backgrounds. Clients advised are from numerous sectors including real estate, TMT, energy, manufacturing and support services. Work is of a high standard and commensurate to what you would get at a larger firm. The role carries responsibilities to include managing a large caseload from day 1 and you will also have involvement in assisting in developing more junior members of the team. The firm is gaining positive publicity in respect of successful matters recently handled in the DIFC Courts and new instructions continue to flow on the back of that. This would suit an ambitious mid to senior level solicitor or barrister with at least 5 years pqe seeking to make a name in the region. Candidates will likely be English or other common law qualified with experience gained ideally at a mid-larger law firm comprising commercial litigation, ADR and International Arbitration. Candidates with only commercial litigation experience seeking to get exposure to arbitration work will be considered. Matters handled include contractual disputes including shareholder/JV’s, real estate disputes, projects and construction and energy. Candidates on the ground in the region or those seeking to relocate there for the first time will be considered.
