Leading firm with offices across the main Middle East jurisdictions seeks to appoint senior lawyer into its established Telecoms, Media and Technology law group. The firm handles a broad range of transactional, commercial and regulatory work in the group with a client base comprising government departments, banks, telecoms companies both domestic and international and high tech businesses.  The team is comprised of local bi-lingual Arabic speakers as well as common law qualified lawyers from the major Western jurisdictions. Matters handled include advising companies on commercial matters including sale & licensing agreements, project management, business process outsourcing, data protection, E-business, M-business and M-banking. Media clients are advised on media broadcasting rights and regulations, digital content, advertising and event management. Their telecoms practice covers the whole spectrum of work to include telecoms regulatory across many jurisdictions, infrastructure, mobile, content, satellite etc.  Candidates likely to be at senior associate level with a law firm rated for TMT work or possibly very senior in-house counsel seeking a return to private practice at partner level.  Candidates will be common law or US qualified with at least 8 years post qualification experience.  Excellent opportunity to take a leading role in the further development of this practice area where you will have responsibility for managing a team of western and local lawyers and the remit to further grow the practice through implementing business development initiatives in conjunction with other offices and practice areas.  Demonstration of a business case not a requirement for this role and technical ability and pedigree of experience will be the main criteria.
