Corporate has always been the practice area for which the firm is best known.  The key management positions are held by transactional corporate partners, and the corporate team holds many of the firm’s key client relationships.

Joining the firm’s corporate practice, you would be at the heart of the firm’s strategy, and you would work alongside talented practitioners that have contributed to the firm’s consistently high rankings in legal directories like Legal 500 and Chambers for areas related to corporate expertise, and other major industry accolades the firm has won.

The firm’s core corporate team, fast approaching 20 fee earners nowadays, has a particularly strong track record advising corporate entities with business interests overseas, including Africa, Australia, Canada, China, Europe, India, Israel and the US.  Typical clients range from entrepreneurs to multinationals, with deal sizes normally ranging from £10m to £100m, but the team has considerable experience on larger transactions worth hundreds of million.

To date, the team has had particular success in the following industry sectors: mining and natural resources, infrastructure and property development, commodities trading, financial services (typically asset management and brokers), technology and communications, and retail and leisure.

Examples of recent M&A and equity capital markets deals include: an IPO for a diamond mining company, an MBO for major coffee exporter, gold mining business fundraising, corporate real estate work for developments in emerging markets, a Main Market listing for an oil & gas company, takeover of an international engineering business, various deals in life sciences, aviation, gaming, fashion and chemicals.
