In-House Legal Counsel: Associate to Senior Associate Level

The Associate will participate in all stages of the deal and investment process and attend to general legal matters across all areas of the firm.

 

The responsibilities of this role will include the following:

  • Lead contractual transactions including drafting and negotiating both in relation to all legal matters of the firm
  • Legal research and contractual analysis including drafting reports/research notes and advising the CEO and investment team
  • Liaising with external counsel on outsourced legal matters and obtaining further advice where necessary
  • Assist with general legal, commercial or compliance activities as directed by the CEO or investment team
  • Plan and document the firm Board of Directors meetings

 

Candidate specifications:

  • Qualified solicitor (either Swedish and/or English qualified), with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (candidates outside of this PQE will be considered depending on experience)
  • Must be a Swedish national and been practicing law in London for a minimum 3 years
  • Passion/enthusiasm for the venture capital and private equity industry
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts and contract law.  Experience in the media sector would also be beneficial
  • Excellent drafting skills in relation to contractual agreements, correspondence, research notes, reports etc.
  • Strong communication (both written and oral) and analytical skills
  • Ability to digest and explain complex information and logically work through problems to develop solutions
  • Commercially-minded with a strong willingness to learn and develop an understanding of the venture capital, private equity and media industries
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and confident with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive initiatives forward to conclusion
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Well organised and able to prioritise conflicting pressures
  • Business orientated with a desire to influence and proactively engage with all areas of the business in clear and plain English
  • Act with integrity and in accordance with ethical, legal and compliance standards
