Legal Counsel (NQ-2 year PQE)
MEDIA/PROGRAMMING/ CONTENT LAWYER - GLOBAL MEDIA COMPANY
Our client is a leading international media company, a market leader in television, broadband, internet and telephony services and a pioneer in innovative technology.
They are seeking an NQ/junior legal counsel who has a digital content/programming/commercial legal background. The successful person will join a high calibre Legal & Business Affairs team, based in London.
The role is split between programing and commercial work. The programming team are based in our client's Amsterdam offices so the ability to build relationships from a distance is key.
The team provides a first rate service supporting the business in all content-related legal matters. A significant part of this role is advising on the structuring, drafting and negotiation of distribution deals for linear and VOD content, across multiple transmission means / platforms in multiple territories. There will also be general advisory and project based work with continuous exposure to various forms of new media and the latest in new product development.
You will be an aspiring media lawyer (having gained experience from a reputable law firm or TMT company) with in-depth experience of content / media related matters, including rights acquisitions and content distribution agreements. You will also have more general IP, licensing and commercial experience, particularly in the field of television and digital media.
You will be sharp and highly commercial with an analytical mind and a desire to broaden your existing knowledge and experience of media-related/technological matters.
