The last 12 months has seen corporate and banking teams expand considerably and this elite US law firm looks to boast one of the strongest years on record since launching in London. Consequently, the IP/IT practice is seeing its demand go through the roof.

The team undertake the full range of work (from trademarks and copyright to licensing and patents) though there is exposure, too, to commercial/ IT work as well as data and privacy issues for those with a desire to keep a good commercial focus. The team act for clients in a range of sectors including Funds, FS, pharma, technology and media and given the small team you will deal with clients directly. They are seeking a lawyer from a highly rated IP/IT team seeking client contact, autonomy and responsibility.

Working closely with the transactional teams across the firm’s offices, you’ll advise on matters where IP/IT/data is a core part of the deal proposition. You’ll also advise on and take a lead role on carve out and separation aspects of asset deals. There is of course also the standalone work, such as GDPR readiness and IT.

The ideal candidate will have experience of most or all of:

  • Transactional IP
  • Carve outs/separation issues
  • Transitional Services Agreements
  • Due Diligence
  • IP Licencing
  • GDPR
  • IT

Contrary to the restrictions many juniors in larger intellectual property teams face the opportunity is such, that if you able capable, able and want to take the lead, you can, both on support and standalone instructions. The progression and responsibility offered is therefore as rare as it comes and, backed up with an elite US brand, full NY rates and a development programme to guide you to partnership, this is a superb proposition for a junior star who qualified in 2016 or 2017.
