Our client is a highly regarded mid-sized law firm with a Financial Services Regulatory team that advises on a broad range of work from capital markets to securities and investment funds. The need has arisen for an international regulatory lawyer with expertise across a range of areas such as funds, banking, capital markets and securities.

They regularly advise international clients on US and EU regulatory issues, strategies on legal relocation aspects including Brexit consequences such as third country status of the UK, equivalence measures, reciprocity considerations in regulation and complex interdisciplinary solutions to mitigate the negative impacts post-Brexit.

They provide legal assessments on the impact of US regulation such as Dodd-Frank Act, particularly the Volcker Rule on regulated EU investment funds. They advise on opinions on the impact of EU Regulation such as the AIFMD on US Asset Managers.

They advise on the complex practical implications in the event that both EU and US (securities/banking/fund) regulation applies and how best to deal with diverging/partly contradictory regulatory regimes. They also advise on the implications of investment fund passport regimes in Asia vis-à-vis the EU framework.

In addition to your broad international regulatory experience you will also assist the firm in becoming more visible by attending events, conferences and lectures. Those with a strong interest in academia would be suited to this role.

It is likely that candidates will be at senior associate level with a top law firm and seeking a very broad role that is not just comprised of domestic FCA Regulation.
