Further information

Hogan Lovells is one of the world's top 10 legal practices. Our global reach and exceptional breadth of practice ensures a broad, enriching experience for graduate trainees. With a spectrum of practice areas to explore, a prestigious client list and a positive, open culture, our focus is to enable trainees to become lawyers, and lawyers to become leaders.

Our recruitment and training policy is very simple: our success as a firm depends on our ability to attract and retain the brightest and most able people. Your training and development will reflect the nature and ambitions of the firm as a whole; you will be guaranteed to have a genuinely broad experience of our wide ranging practice areas and be immersed in Hogan Lovells' team-based structure.

Trainees at Hogan Lovells spend six months in four different areas of the practice to gain as much experience as possible. All trainees must spend six months in a corporate or finance seat, and six months gaining contentious experience in our dispute resolution practice.

You have the option of spending time in the second year of training on secondment to one of our international offices or to the in-house legal team of a major client. Trainees are offered as much responsibility as they can handle as well as a comprehensive skills training programme, regular reviews, appraisals, and support. After qualification continuous training and professional development remain a priority.

What we are looking for
