EU/Competition - Silver Circle 3PQE+

City of London£75000 - £95000 per annum

This much praised Silver Circle firm boasts one of the highest rated Competition teams in the City, with leading names on both the Corporate and Contentious sides of the practice. Associates will be involved in a mix of the two, and will be exposed to the high profile and ground breaking matters the firm is frequently involved in.

The team covers general antitrust and competition matters, merger clearance, regulatory matters, public procurement, WTO and international trade, behavioural investigations and state aid across a range of sectors. They have particular expertise representing financial institutions, FMCG, transport, infrastructure, energy/resources and manufacturing. They advise a number of FTSE companies, governments, regulatory bodies and banks.

Their London competition team is complemented with teams of lawyers in Europe, and works closely with other departments where appropriate, all of which are highly regarded in their respective fields.

Due to an upturn in work, they are now looking to increase the number of associates in the team. Associates will have a wide variety of work covering corporate and merger support, advisory and contentious matters. It would be an ideal position perhaps for a lawyer currently in a Magic Circle firm who is frustrated with their current role and who wants to move without sacrificing quality of work or salary. It would also be a good move for someone in a smaller competition team who is looking for a step up in terms of calibre of work.

Candidates should have at least three years PQE in EU/Competition law. Academic excellence is essential, and the firm will only consider those candidates who have a 2(i) degree and strong A Level results. Practical hands-on transactional experience will also be necessary.
